I’ve been engaged in the trade of residential construction since answering a newspaper ad for a carpenter’s assistant in 1994. In that time I’ve deconstructed and rebuilt structures dating to colonial times, completed the interiors of dozens of new homes, and tried my hand at most aspects of home building… everything from framing to fixing the screen door.

The last 5 years have been filled mostly with new construction projects, featuring thousands of square feet of hardwood and tile flooring, countless windows and doors trimmed, over two dozen shower/tub tile installations, 30 stairways and 40 kitchens completed. On many of these projects I was tasked with being “the finish guy”; essentially taking a new construction home from primed drywall to final inspection.

My wife and I are 25 year residents of South Berwick, Maine, where we’ve brought up our children. I’ve tried to be as involved with whatever activities the kids engaged in as I could, and that meant constructing set props for 5th grade plays, building a lacrosse/soccer rebounding wall at the high school, and coaching tee-ball, baseball, summer travel baseball, travel basketball, travel soccer and most recently lacrosse.
